The holiday's sure are going to be weird this year. We were planning on taking a family trip to Oregon for Thanksgiving however after finding out it would cost us $1600+ to go we decided that we just aren't going to be able to make it.
My whole life I have lived in Utah and usually had a Thanksgiving and Christmas of snow and lots of craziness going from place to place to visit with family. Christmas was crazy with extremely large family parties but always fun. When we haven't been in Utah for the holidays we have spent them with the Brooks family in Oregon which also is a ton of crazy fun! Actually knowing we aren't going to be with either of our families this year is a little on the depressing side of things but at least the four of us will be together and that is what counts right? It is!
Good News is at least Flagstaff is only 3-4 hours away and there is snow there! Sounds like we are going to have to make a weekend trip there so that we can have a little bit of the Christmas season that we know. On the other hand. I don't know that I can complain too much about being able to wear shorts and flip flops all winter long. It sure is going to be a major change!
For Paul, the kids and myself we are so happy and so blessed to all be under the same roof this year. We struggled for 18 months trying to spend time together when we could and now at least we will be able to share the entire holiday season together. We are enjoying having our family time!
So the invitation is open to family and close friends - our house will remain open for the holiday's if anyone wants to visit!
